Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival celebrated on the day of the birth of Lord Ganesh or Ganpati. It falls on the fourth day of Bhadrapada masam-BHADRAPADA SUDHDHA CHAVITHI.By . Lord Ganesh or Ganpati is believed to remove all obstacles and bless success in every endeavour. Performing Ganesh pooja on Bhadrapada Chavithi brings good fortune,bestows knowledge and prosperity in one’s home and work place.
the pooja must be performed in according to the tradition with neccessary items as advised by holy books.Every item has its own significance. It is also necessary to do pooja according to right time (muhurat-precisely early morning) or as suggested by the  Hindu priests (pandits). It is believed that if pooja is performed or begun in auspicious time then it is more effective and powerful in giving positive energy.

TOMATO PERUGU PACHCHADI
Ingredients:
Tomatoes 250gms
Green chillies 
Curd 500 gms
Salt
Turmeric powder
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Ginger
Seasoning:
Mustard half spoon
Bengal gram half spoon
sunflower oil 1 spoon
How to make:
1.Dice tomatoes to long and thin slices
2.Cut green chillies and ginger to very small pieces
3.Heat oil in a pan
4.Add the ingredients for seasoning

6.Add salt and turmeric and simmer for 2 minutes. 5.Once the seasoning turns brownish, add diced tomatoes , ginger,green chillies and curry leaves.Let it turn to a gravy.
7.Put the fire off and add the prepared gravy and chopped coriander to the curd and mix thoroughly.
